I've been wanting to read Drupal 6 Themes by Ric Shreves for quite awhile and finally got it off my to read list.

Drupal, is a powerful content management system that allows you to build professional, scalable websites without needing a large amount of programming knowledge.

As we started work on the new hal-pc.org site, we started to install some user contributed modules and I was asked what criteria I used when deciding whether or not to install a module which has been contributed to Drupal.

As I thought about this, I realized that I use several criteria: functionality, compatibility, stability, popularity, and maintenance.

After you setup a new Drupal website, there are several things you can do to make administering the site easier and faster.

I was recently contacted by the Houston Area League of PC Users regarding their plans to convert their existing website HAL-PC.org to use Drupal. Their existing site was developed over many years by a team of volunteers. This has resulted in a website that does not have a very uniform appearance and that is more difficult to maintain.

Their main goals for the redesign are:

1. Allow individual contributors to create and maintain their own articles to the magazine.
2. Allow users to comment on magazine articles.

As you can see, this site is pretty bare bones right now, but I want to change that. However, I don't want to develop examples just for myself. Instead, I want to build the examples that you want and need.
